Scottish Rugby Clubs & Schools Communications

In this week's Club Communications, make sure you're across all the rugby taking place this weekend.

This is the penultimate Club Communications of the year. Our final send out will be December 17 and we will look to pick up again from January 7.


Arnold Clark Women's Premiership final showdown
Unbeaten Corstorphine Cougars host reigning champions Stirling County at Union Park on Saturday at a 1.30pm kick off time.

Their two match-ups this season have both gone down to the final 10 minutes. Who will be crowned Premiership champions for the 2024 season?

If you can't make it on the day, Scottish Rugby will be broadcasting the match live on scottishrugby.org from 1.20pm onwards.

Finals fixture details



National Youth Cup finalists named
Sixteen teams, competing in eight finals, will take over Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Sunday 15 December, to contest the National Youth Cup competition titles.

Entry is free to all eight matches, which will be held across the main bowl, Hive Stadium and the back pitches, with the first matches kicking off at 11am, and the last game – the Boys U18 Cup Final – kicking off in the main bowl at 5:30pm.

Stirling County return to the U18 Boys Cup Final for a second year running and this time will face competition from Currie Chieftains.

Currie’s U16 boys’ side will also be in action as they look to retain last year’s title. They take on Boroughmuir in the U16 Cup Final at Hive Stadium.

Boys Schools Cup Finals review
Stewart's Melville snatched the Under-18 Cup away from Merchiston Castle in a dramatic near-comeback at Scottish Gas Murrayfield last week.

Jim Taylor memorial and fundraiser
The Jim Taylor Memorial Match will be played on Friday 27 December at The Oriam, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.

This special event will pay tribute to the life and legacy of Jim Taylor, a dedicated ambassador for Hearts + Balls and a long-time supporter of rugby, including his many years working with Glasgow Warriors.

A men’s and women’s team from Hearts + Balls MB will take on teams from the mighty Pigbarians for a festive rugby treat. The event will run from 12-4pm, with two matches taking place.

Entry is free, but a donation to Hearts + Balls Charitable Trust would be appreciated. If you cannot attend please donate your entry via this link. Follow @heartsandballs social channels for further information.



Allianz Future Fund: round two
The Allianz Future Fund Round 2 is now open! A total of 28 grants have been awarded so far, and there is a further £60,000 available in round two – so ensure your club applies today.

Grants will range between £500 and £3,000 and the application window closes on 31 December, 2024.

From there, the Allianz team will review initial applications, then will then look to be in contact with successful clubs.

Biffa: Clubs offer
Biffa, the UK's leading sustainable waste management company, is thrilled to announce the renewal of their partnership agreement with Scottish Rugby. This collaboration aims to support grassroots rugby across Scotland by providing all affiliated clubs with discounted waste and recycling rates.

As part of this agreement, clubs participating in the offer will also have the exciting opportunity to enter a prize draw for their respective leagues. One lucky team will be randomly selected from each league to receive a £500 grant, which can be used to promote and develop grassroots rugby initiatives at their club.

Clubs are encouraged to take advantage of these benefits and contribute to making a positive impact both environmentally and within their communities.
