New Scottish Rugby CEO starts on 20 January
By way of update from our September announcement that Alex Williamson is to be Scottish Rugby's new CEO, we can now announce that Alex will be starting with us on Monday 20 January.
Alex is hugely excited and energised to get started. He is keen to spend time with areas of the business and also to get into Scotland's rugby community.

Running between May and July, Tartan Touch is designed to provide a simplified version of rugby with the aim of attracting players of all abilities, ages and levels of experience who are looking to improve their fitness through simple and social activity.
In 2024, there were 73 hubs across the country, so there is bound to be a hub close to you. Once hubs are announced later this year, please click on one of the hub event invites once this page is updated.

2024 CGC: Story of the day video
Scottish Rugby is seeking applications for the 2024/25 State School Rugby fund, which sees between £5000-10,000 targeted at creating more opportunities in our regions.
The State School Rugby fund helps create more opportunities for pupils in state schools to participate in rugby by developing accessible models of support with targeted investment within our regions.
Applications have now opened to run a project during the 2025/26 season and will remain open until Sunday 26 January 2025.
The Club Sustainability Fund: Major Capital Investment fund for Season 2024/25 has also now launched.
This financial support programme is a £500K fund, which will award up to £250K for up to two capital investment projects per year. The guidance notes and link to the application form can be found below.

The Community Recognition Awards see outstanding volunteers, coaches, players and individuals celebrated for their contribution to our great game on and off the pitch.

Broken down into several categories, the list identifies which substances and methods are prohibited at all times, in-competition only, and within specific sports.
Players are reminded that they can check medications using Global Drug Reference Online (DRO) to confirm if they are on the WADA prohibited list for rugby.
The Global Drug Reference Online (Global DRO) provides athletes and support personnel with information about the prohibited status of specific medications based on the current World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.
Players can search the Global DRO for specific information on products sold in the United Kingdom, or check the UKAD website.
