Dundee Rugby 1st XV Men V Aberdeen Grammar Rugby - Match Preview
With the two sides meeting once again for the Caley battle, it’s not just position in the table that each team is fighting for. A historic cup is on the line, the Dallas Allardice cup. Currently Aberdeen hold the cup after a close game earlier in the season. Also at Mayfield is the 10 year anniversary of the Dundee High B&I cup squad (British and Irish cup) where the team played teams such a Cornish pirates, who bolstered current England players such as Jack Nowell. Dundee had their own international stars with the likes of Duncan Weir, who’s slotted a penalty from in his own half to, win the game for Dundee against Swansea. Dundee's very own star, Neil Dymock will be on his guitar in the club house after the game.
A few words from coach Brown:
“After losing 3 scores in the last ten minutes last Saturday the boys were all very disappointed. Unfortunately we don’t have time to feel sorry for ourselves with grammar coming this weekend, who beat us by a point earlier in the season although there was some dubious refereeing. The added spice of playing for the Dallas Allardice cup is a big thing between both teams and this group of Dundee players haven’t won it yet. Training was very sharp and positive:- the job is to pick ourselves up and get this win."
