The U16 girls welcomed Cambuslang to Alloway Place for the first round of the National Cup on Sunday.
From Martin Forrester, U16’s girls coach:
‘On a perfect morning for rugby, the match started fast with Cambuslang opening the scoring before an immediate response from Juliet Ramsay brought Dundee within 2.
Unfortunately, Cambuslang took their chances well and started to build a score thanks to great counter attacking and swift play on the wings.
Despite some excellent defence, in particular from Sophie Chalmers, Cambuslang were able to keep taking advantage of their speed out wide and the final score ended 55-5 in favour of the visitors.
Keira Bell was nominated as player of the game by Cambuslang, whilst Sophie was rewarded for her huge hits with the player of the match from her team mates. Special mention goes to Lily Sutton who made her debut and celebrated with a fantastic catch and run from the kick off.
Next up for the U16 girls will be a trip to Annan on the 17th’
